Review of the Beautiful New “Along the Rails Tavern” at Six Flags Over Georgia

Six Flags Over Georgia has opened a new food and beverage location called Along the Rails Tavern. It’s described by the park as, “a relaxing outdoor patio located near the picturesque Marthasville Railroad Station”, they couldn’t be more right. With beautiful wood decking, great shade from the surrounding trees, a diverse drink selection and somewhat hidden location, this place is a real gem for the park. It also screams “hold your private event here” for things like corporate gatherings or coaster groups visiting the park. Something like a new bar doesn’t get the buzz of a new coaster, but wow what a great addition for the park!

Is the Fireworks Desert Party at Magic Kingdom Worth it? One Family’s Review of the Pre-Party.

Walt Disney referred to the fireworks display at the parks as their “kiss goodnight” for the guest, a way to end the day on a memorable note. For many visitors the fireworks are an essential part of the Disney experience and they’ll arrive in front of the castle 1-2 hours in advance to scope out the best seats. However, did you know Disney has several options that give you reserved seating for the fireworks? The fireworks pre-party, post-party and sweets & seats provide reserved seating along with unlimited desserts and alcoholic beverages. Of course this comes at nearly a $100/person price, but is it worth it?

The Swiss House at Busch Gardens Tampa in 1965

Honey, Can We Go to To the Nicest Restaurant in Town? OK, Let’s Go to the Swiss House at Busch Gardens!

Many of the buildings at Busch Gardens have interesting previous lives. A haunted house is a former horse stable, Cobra’s Curse queue is a former Egyptian walk through attraction and Cheetah Hunt’s station was previously used as the station for an inverted monorail that provided views of the Savannah. However, one of the more interesting examples is the Serengeti Overlook, now home to the Giraffe Bar, Oasis Pizza (a quick service food spot) and the pass holder lounge. Would you believe this used to be considered one of the nicest restaurants in all of Tampa?

Zagora Cafe and Kangaroo Area at Busch Gardens Getting Refurbishments

According to the Accela database it appears the Zagora Cafe is getting an overhaul. Of all the dining options in the park it was probably most in need of some refurbishments. The actual food service area looks quite dated and the dining area is essentially a covered patio. With the recent renovations the the Giraffe Bar, Springs Taproom and Coaster Coffee, it was probably next up in the rotation.

The “Smoked Brat Sandwhich” blew my mind and my taste buds. It is a great quality bratwurst perfectly prepared on a soft pretzel bun topped with braised red cabbage with a side of fried potatoes, peppers and onions.

The Beer of Busch Gardens: Great Selection at Beautiful Locations and Sometimes it’s Free!

The Giraffe Bar at Busch Gardens

Beer and Busch Gardens just seem to go together. We’ve written in the past about the history of the parks, their onsite breweries and ties to Busch Beer. The one sentence summary is there used to be a big Busch brewery near where Iron Gwazi is today and the park was originally started to help market the beer. Today, however, we will focus more on the modern connections with the locations and types of beer you can find around the park.
