There are six World Cup matches scheduled at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. This stadium is normally the home of the San Francisco 49ers, but for the World Cup FIFA requires branding to be removed or covered and it will just be known as San Francisco Bay Area Stadium. Did you know this stadium is literally right next door to California’s Great America, a Six Flags park. When you’re watching a match on TV and you see some of the aerial shots of the stadium you might just catch a glimpse of a roller coaster! It will probably see some extra guests, but also, due to its proximity, the park is serving as a major hub for World Cup logistics like match-day parking and traffic/pedestrian flow.

Matches hosted at Levi’s Stadium during the Group Stage included:
- June 13: Qatar vs. Switzerland
- June 17: Austria vs. Jordan
- June 20: Türkiye vs. Paraguay
- June 23: Jordan vs. Algeria
- June 25: Paraguay vs. Australia
- July 1: Round of 32
The park doesn’t seem to be holding any special World Cup events, but honestly proximity is probably enough. If you want a theme park World Cup experience, the LEGOLAND parks are holding the FIFA® World Cup 2026 Experience. California is filled with other theme parks for supporters to visit with Six Flags Discovery Kingdom just over an hour north in Vallejo, California being the next closest.

Most people headed to Santa Clara will have soccer and World Cup related events on the mind. However, while in the area, a visit to a theme park could be an add-on for some. Six Flags surely will leave the World Cup experience happy financially as their parking lot is often used by Levi’s Stadium and no doubt will fetch a premium on match days. People will also physically see the park which will be a lot of free advertising. There are reports of California’s Great America closing after the 2027 season (unless a lease extension can be worked out), but being a neighbor of the biggest event in the World should make it a great summer for the park.
