The Spectacular Scouting America Adventure Weekend at Wild Adventures

We had a chance to experience the Scouting America Adventure Weekend at Wild Adventures Theme Park, April 17-19, 2026 and it was an incredible scouting event. This has to be the best bargain in scouting events with food, 2-day theme park tickets and 2nights of camping for only $50. The execution of the event by Wild Adventures was spectacular as everything was obviously extremely well planned. For a scout spending 2 days camping at Wild Adventures couldn’t be more fun with its combination of rides, waterpark and animals. If you’re looking for a fun spring camping event it’s hard to imagine anything better than a Scouting America Adventure Weekend at Wild Adventures.

The Scouting America motto is “Be Prepared” and it was obvious that Wild Adventures was prepared. From the communication prior to the event to excellent signage as you entered to the execution of things like the lunch buffet, to the morning fishing event, you could tell the park had put thought and care into every aspect of the weekend. If you registered far enough in advance parking was even free and everything you needed including the patches were sent to you by UPS in advance. It was clear that the park employees were expecting scouts and were happy that they were there. From a scout leader perspective Wild Adventures made planning and preparation easy. Also, if scouts were prepared they could complete many scouting adventures during the weekend including swimming, fishing, animals and engineering.

Wild Adventures itself is a great theme park. It is a perfect blend of rides, waterpark, zoo, entertainment and food. There really is something for everyone here of every age. There are 6 roller coasters here from kiddie to intense thrills and dozens of other flat rides that do the same. The park has a full waterpark included in the price of admission. If rides aren’t your thing, there are hundreds of animals to see, a safari train ride and a beautiful boardwalk trail through the swamp. The park also has some great shows and entertainment and is known for its concert series. On the Saturday of Scouting America Adventure Weekend they featured country star Tyler Hubbard. Wild Adventures also has great food from your theme park staples of popcorn and chicken fingers to great BBQ and there are even some gourmet options along the beautiful Water’s Edge area.

The Scouting America Adventure Weekend is a tremendous bargain for a scouting camping event. For $50 you get two days at the theme park, camping for two nights, a buffet lunch, all you can drink soda and a patch. If you’re already a season passholder, you can get all the other stuff without the theme park tickets for just $18. The patch looks awesome, the food was great and the free soda program was really easy with just a simple wristband. There were scout specific signs everywhere including one telling scouts they could upgrade their 2-day ticket to a season pass for only $35!

For the scouts the park put on an excellent lunch buffet over by the backstage area. The way the park ran this was operations perfection as they kept the buffet pans full and the lines moving. The efficiency and speed with which they fed a large group was astounding. There were essentially unlimited hot dogs, chicken tenders, sides and ice cream that were hot and tasted great along with soda machines. The tables were setup under large shaded pavilions and the park’s mascot was working the crowd.

The actual camping area was quite nice in a big field between the regular parking and the Safari Campground. It felt separate and safe while still not being a far walk from the entrance to the park. The signage to get to it was easy to follow with ropes to guide you into spots once you arrived. Cars could be parked right adjacent to the camping area which made everything super easy. The site is a little primitive with just portable restrooms and hand washing stations, but that’s all scouts really need. The grass field was actually really soft to sleep on for tent camping too and was directly adjacent to the park fence. It was fun to wake up in the morning and watch roller coasters testing and hear the sounds of animals from inside the park. The event drew groups from all over the southeast and it was great meeting new friends from all over in the mornings and evenings, scouts tend to be a friendly and helpful group.

On Sunday morning scouts had the unique opportunity to go fishing in the lake at the center of the park. It opened at 7:30am and stayed open for a couple of hours until just before park open at 10am. Of course none of the rides were open, but you could see the animals and watch the park come to life. This was such a special moment to basically have the park to ourselves and the Wild Adventures had helpful staff every step of the way. The fishing was catch and release with people having great success catching mostly bass. Several scouts caught 6 or more fish each making for exciting fishing.

I cannot say enough good things about the Scouting America Adventure Weekend at Wild Adventures Theme Park. We will be back for sure next year and we will bring even more people with us. I cannot think of a better scout event bargain than this and the park’s execution of the event was spectacular. We had several guests with us visiting the park for the first time through the Scouting America Adventure Weekend and they’re already planning their next trip. There’s no doubt Wild Adventures made some fans this weekend and there’s also no doubt that many scouts, leaders and parents also made some great memories that will last a lifetime.
