2026 has been a great year for new roller coasters. We’ve had record breakers like Tormenta, indoor highly themed coasters like NightFlight and Galacticoaster as well as first of their kind like Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. There’s also been a ton for the family from Bluey to Jurassic World. A new coaster can drive park attendance as people visit to try the new ride. It’s the plan that attendance spikes year over year for several years after a multi-million dollar addition like a new roller coaster. So here’s a list of the new coasters we’ve seen for 2026.

Brand-New Roller Coaster Additions for 2026

• Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! (Alton Towers): The world’s first Bluey-themed junior coaster that opened on March 28, 2026.
• Flying Fox (Kentucky Kingdom): A custom Vekoma family suspended coaster that opened on May 28, 2026.
• Patriot’s Run (Jenkinson’s Boardwalk): A patriotic-themed family coaster that opened on May 30, 2026.
• Tecuani Beast (BON Luxury Theme Park at Vidanta World): Latin America’s first double-launch coaster, slated to debut in Fall 2026.
• Galacticoaster (LEGOLAND California and LEGOLAND Florida): A new addition catering to families that opened for the 2026 season.
• Barracuda Strike (SeaWorld San Antonio): Marketed as North America’s tallest family inverted coaster that opened on March 7, 2026.
• Quantum Accelerator (Six Flags New England): The park’s very first dual-launch straddle coaster that opened on April 17, 2026.
• Nightflight Expedition (Dollywood): A high-tech indoor hybrid adventure coaster that officially opened on August 19, 2026.
• Speedway Stunt Coaster (Six Flags Mexico): A Hollywood action-movie-themed family boomerang coaster that opened on January 31, 2026.
• Tormenta Rampaging Run (Six Flags Over Texas): The world’s first and only “giga dive coaster” that opened on July 9, 2026, breaking six world records.
• Rhonda’s TrollsFest Express (Universal Kids Resort – Texas): A starter coaster themed after DreamWorks’ Trolls that opened on July 1, 2026.
• Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift (Universal Studios Hollywood): A highly anticipated 72 mph outdoor drifting coaster that officially opened on September 16, 2026.
• Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster (Universal Kids Resort – Texas): A family-friendly Mack YoungSTAR coaster that opened on July 1, 2026.

Major Overhauls & Re-themes for 2026

• Verbolten: Forbidden Turn (Busch Gardens Williamsburg): A darker fairytale-inspired reimagining of the park’s multi-launch coaster that reopened on May 30, 2026.
• Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets (Disney’s Hollywood Studios): The permanent Muppets takeover replacing the former Aerosmith theme that officially opened on May 26, 2026.

There are the coasters of Six Flags Qiddiya City which could be 2025 or 2026. This also doesn’t take into account relocations like Barrels O’ Fun at Six Flags Great Adventure or Lookout Mountain Safari at Lake Winnie. There are also a few small rides not accounted for here like some SBF Visa coasters, but this should cover the majority of them.

So how many new for 2026 coasters have you ridden?

I’ve only managed 3 thus far with Galacticoaster, Barracuda Strike and NightFlight Expedition. I hope to add one or two more by the end of the year like Flying Fox and Tormenta.
