Fun Spot put a new video out on social media as part of their podcast series where they interview Fun Spot America CEO, John Arie Jr. In this video we learned about some of the rides moving from Atlanta to Florida, a new ride opening in Orlando around Thanksgiving and the possibility of Fun Spot getting another RMC! The park has been very transparent these last few months about the company and it appears they are firmly focused on the future. I’d imagine this became much easier recently too with the future and legacy of ArieForce One appearing secure after the sale to Six Flags.

So as far as Atlanta rides on the move, it was mentioned that the Screaming Eagles would be moving to the Orlando park as well as the Frog Hopper. Kissimmee already has a Screaming Eagles ride and it makes sense to give Orlando an installation of this popular attractions too. Orlando and Kissimmee both already has a Frog Hoppers, so sending Atlanta’s Frog Hopper to Orlando is probably just about it getting an upgraded newer one.

Kissimmee isn’t being left out as the Tilt-a-Whirl from Atlanta is going to that park. Kissimmee already has a Tilt-a-Whirl, but the one at Atlanta was only 3 years old, so this may be more of a modernization like the Frog Hopper at Orlando.

In addition to “Atlanta rides” Mach Fun is also slated to open before Thanksgiving at Fun Spot America Orlando. The ride is 50-foot-tall interactive tower plane ride made by SBF Visa Group and is their Sky Roller Model. The ride was acquired from the shuttered Funplex in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where Fun Spot also acquired Tea Cups for Orlando, Up and Overboard and Swing Around for Kissimmee and Hook & Slice for Atlanta (which I’m surprised isn’t moving). Mr Arie also mentioned, “Maybe there will be an RMC in the future right here.” That could mean in Florida or be more specific to the Orlando park where their corporate offices are and where the video was probably filmed.

Mr. Arie mentioned that you’ll start to see Fun Spot grow again. At the Atlanta park closing he mentioned the Florida parks were doing quite well and that was a reason they could keep Atlanta going as long as they did. Fun Spot should have a lot more free cash flow for new rides and attractions. It’s fun to guess what he might mean by them getting an RMC “right here”. It could be an RMC Raptor (single rail coaster) which has been rumored for some time. Its size and cost would make it a good fit. It could also be a complete RMC conversion of something like Mine Blower which already has some RMC track. It’ll be fun to watch what Fun Spot does the next couple years with their focus only on their Florida parks.
