Six Flags is bringing back Holiday in the Park to Six Flags Over Georgia in 2026 after cancelling it for the 2025 season. Six Flags President and CEO stated, “We heard our guests loud and clear, Holiday in the Park has long been a cornerstone event at these properties, and we’ve taken everything we’ve learned to thoughtfully evolve the experience.” In addition to returning to Six Flags Over Georgia, Holiday in the Park will also be returning to Six Flags Great Adventure. The concept art below that Six flags released for this new incarnation looks ridiculously awesome.

“We heard our guests loud and clear, Holiday in the Park has long been a cornerstone event at these properties, and we’ve taken everything we’ve learned to thoughtfully evolve the experience.”
John Reilly, president and CEO of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation
Six Flags has said these new events will be completely redesigned from the ground up. These holiday event changes had been rumored from the last shareholder call with Carowinds event last year offered as a template. Six Flags has teased that the parks will transform into “living storybooks”, with three brand-new, immersive themed lands, with more to come in following years. Events are also expected to include most all the rides operating, more live entertainment, enhanced decorations and even an indoor walk-through attraction for the whole family. If this at all resembles the spectacular Holiday in the Park even we experienced last year at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, then the Atlanta area is in for a real treat.

It’s great to see Holiday in the Park returning to Six Flags Over Georgia. Not only does this mean more operating days for the park, but this also means the potential for continued and new family traditions. Our family made an annual trip to Six Flags for Holiday in the park as the park Santa was “our” Santa and we loved the lights. I also know of several people who did not renew season passes this year because of the event being cancelled, so hopefully this helps increase the perceived value of a season pass. It’ll also be quite exciting to see what the new “themed lands” are and the transformation into “living storybooks”. We’re already looking forward to some wonderful weekend days in November and December at Six Flags Over Georgia!
