Wild Adventures Theme Park & Splash Island Waterpark in Valdosta, Georgia are celebrating a big win for Paradise River as America’s “Best Lazy River” according to readers of USA TODAY in the 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. The historic win follows four weeks of intense competition between twenty lazy rivers at parks nationwide, including Universal Studios, Disney, Aquatica and Six Flags. I had a chance to experience Paradise River again just a couple of weeks ago and it was in prime form. I especially appreciated the several terraces overhead of live flowers. The smell of honeysuckle combined with the sights and sounds on a beautiful Saturday was a symphony for the senses. Splash Island Waterpark is now open on Saturdays and Sundays and will begin daily operations May 23, delivering another season of thrilling water slides and gallons of fun for all ages.
