Orlando, Florida is known as the theme park capitol of the world and the local science center embraces this with its own roller coaster exhibit. The Orlando Science Center has the Coaster Challenge, where you’ll use pipes to build a model of whatever radical roller coaster you can dream up! The Coaster Challenge is located in the museum’s Kinetic Zone exhibit where guests explore the fundamentals of forces and learn the principles of physics.

In the Kinetic Zone there is also another area where guests can tack track pieces, including loops, and put together a course for balls to traverse. It’s really like the museum has two areas where guests can build a coaster. The science museum is a great option for a rainy day in Orlando when your favorite water park or them park may be closed. Kids can learn about important forces for roller coasters such as potential and kinetic energy, gravity and centripetal force. This may provide for some different conversations during your next theme park visits as the kids learn the science and engineering behind the amazing roller coasters we all enjoy.
