When you think of a roller coaster at a fair or carnival you’re usually going to picture a Wacky Worm or a Dragon Wagon. Carnival rides need to be easily portable which is often counter to a larger coaster experience. However, Wade Shows transports two copies of the Super Cyclone with 1,148 feet of track. The ride is an impressive 1 minute 20 seconds with a height of 30 feet and series of sharp figure-eight switchbacks and bunny hops. The ride has a theoretical capacity of 1,400 riders/hour which is greater than most theme park coasters.

I had a chance to experience the Super Cyclone in May of 2026 at the Coosa Valley Spring Fair in Rome, Georgia. Wade generally only brings the Super Cyclone to premier events, so I was thrilled to see it announced for the fair. I went on their Tuesday special where admission was $4 and each ride was only $4 including Super Cyclone. It was a cloudy day with rain threatening, so there was no line and I walked on. I’m a tall guy and I found the trains quite comfortable. The climb up the loud chain lift was great at building anticipation. The first drop had decent speed and the bunny hills and turns were fun, but not overly forceful. The ride was actually pretty smooth and not jerky which is impressive for a mobile ride.

Super Cyclone is actually the Super Cyclon model by Italian manufacturer Interpark. There are numerous of these out in traveling shows. There are also permanently installed versions such as Super Cyclone at Santa’s Village AZoosment Park in Dundee, Illinois and Aftershock at the Alaska State Fairgrounds. Aftershock is Alaska’s only permanently installed roller coaster. Aftershock was installed in 2021 after being part of a traveling carnival and this year you can ride it as part of Alaska State Fair August 21 – September 7, 2026. This is a rare credit like the permanently installed Swarzkopf Wildcat at the North Georgia State Fair.

The Super Cyclone is impressive for a traveling roller coaster. There’s no crazy forces here, but it’s an enjoyable ride that feels more theme park than carnival. If you have a chance to ride a Super Cyclone near you go ahead and seek it out as it’s a unique and fun coaster experience.
