If you have young children you’re probably familiar with the Paw Patrol. The children’s cartoon series has had remarkable staying power having premiered on Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr. on August 12, 2013. New for 2026, Merlin Entertainment has brought the world of Paw Patrol to life at Chessington World of Adventures in the UK which opened on May 3, 2026. There have been Paw Patrol areas in theme parks before, such as at the Nickelodeon Universe locations at Mall of America and American Dream, but these have been more playground than rides. Paw Patrol at Chessington is a fully fleshed out theme park land complete with several rides and attractions. Paw Patrol at Chessington features a roller coaster, 3 flat rides and several other attractions including a play zone and pup meet & greet.

“How can we afford this place? Officially licensed PAW Patrol merchandise. This stuff sells like hotcakes!”

PAW Patrol: The Movie

The anchor to this new area is Chase’s Mountain Mission roller coaster. where guests can join Chase on a high-speed rescue Guests enter a real-life Lookout Tower and receive a mission briefing before the ride. At its core this is Zierer kiddie coaster similar to Beach Rescue Racer at SeaWorld San Antonio, but even for adults they provide a comfortable and fun ride. The theming on the course also looks quite good in creating the mountain setting for the ride’s story.

Guests can take to the skies on Skye’s Helicopter Heroes with spectacular views of the park. This flying ride is a Zamperla Samba Tower and has onboard audio as well. There’s also Marshall’s Firetruck Rescue which is a classic “crazy bus” by Zamperla. This is actually a retheme of an older attraction called Jungle Bus which was already in the area before the Paw Patrol retheme. Guests can also take a ride on Zuma’s Hovercraft Adventure, the UK’s first ‘Drifter’ ride by Zierer. This rotating ride slings riders out in a drifting motion that appears fun, but not too forceful that reminds me a lot of a Zamperla Junior whip. This appears to be a great collection of flat rides that importantly are sized so that parents can enjoy them alongside their children.

Paw Patrol is a merchandising machine as well between clothing and toys. The cartoon even pokes fun at itself in PAW Patrol: The Movie, when Skye asks how they can afford their new high-tech Adventure City headquarters, Ryder answers: “Officially licensed PAW Patrol merchandise. This stuff sells like hotcakes!” At Chessington you can even stay in a Paw Patrol themed room and no doubt be presented with numerous opportunities to leave with assorted Paw Patrol merchandise. This land should do quite well for Merlin Entertainment and if it does we’ll probably see one down at LEGOLAND Florida quite soon!
