What will Flying Fox at Kentucky Kingdom be Like? It Looks Like a Near Clone of Dragonflier at Dollywood, but That’s Not a Bad Thing.

Kentucky Kingdon has announced its new suspended family coaster for 2026, Flying Fox by Vekoma. The theming on this ride looks great with a Kentucky farmland setting complete with the queue in a barn. The ride looks great and nearly identical to Dragonflier at Dollywood, but that’s not a bad thing as Dragonflier is a great ride! The specs are also sear identical with Flying Fox being 65 feet tall with 1,380 feet of track at 37 mph over 63 seconds while Dragonflier is 63 feet tall with 1,486 feet of track at 47 mph over 60 seconds. It’s not a clone, but so similar that Kentucky Kingdom actually used stock footage of Dragonflier in the Flying Fox promo video. Here’s the the description the park has provided about it:

New RetroEscapes Theme Park in Las Vegas?

Images courtesy of RetroEscapes

Could a new theme park be on its way to Las Vegas? RetroEscapes has been announced by Daniel-Leo Jr., influencer and self-proclaimed “CEO of Las Vegas,” and his father, Daniel-Leo Sr. as a new theme park where guests are transported into rides and lands inspired by the 1950s -1990s. There has been no location, construction date or potential opening date announced as this park is in the early planning stages. The use of portals for “time travel” seems similar to to the portal concept at Epic Universe and the combination of indoor and outdoor is probably a necessity with the hot Las Vegas weather.

Will Six Flags Souvenir Refill Bottles Become a Thing of the Past?

Six flags refillable bottles

If you’re like me you have a small collection of souvenir refill bottles from theme parks. Probably my biggest collection is from my home park, Six Flags Over Georgia. However. when I renewed my season pass this year there was a new option for 2026, a paper cup option. It is quite similar to the sports bottles with refills available every 15 minutes, but you don’t need the bottle as you’ll get a new paper cup each time. Upon a little research, it appears this paper cup program has been an option at the legacy Cedar Fair parks since 2017 that is now coming to the legacy Six Flags parks. Signs are also pointing to this being the only option in 2026 as there is no 2026 bottle option online.

The Fascinating World of Disney Balloons

Getting a balloon at a theme park can be an iconic experience for a child and some of the balloons at Disney are amazing. Balloons can be found for sale, on parade floats and even as part of attractions. Much of the Disney balloon magic can be traced back to one man, Treb Heining who elevated balloons to an an art form. Mr. Heining was part inventor, part artist and part salesman who helped make balloons an integral part of Disney.
