Fun Spot America Atlanta is closing August 2, 2026 with ArieForce One and its future are getting the most attention. This is well deserved as ArieForce One is a World-Class ride, but it’s not the only roller coaster closing next month. Fun Spot Atlanta actually has 3 roller coasters along with a bunch of great flat rides and go-karts. The two other coasters are a kiddie coaster named Sea Serpent and a family coaster named Hurricane. Neither of these coasters is as unique as ArieForce One, but they do each have a story and are deserving of some recognition as well and perhaps a ride on your last visit to Fun Spot Atlanta.

LEGOLAND Florida is a Great Place to Celebrate America 250 and Surprisingly LEGOLAND Billund is too!

July 4th, 2026 is America’s 250th birthday and it’s been a year long celebration. If you want to get in a patriotic mood, LEGOLAND Florida is a great place to go. You’ll get to see some of the nation’s most iconic structures all created as LEGO brick builds. From the Statue of Liberty to the National Mall to an American Eagle, they’re all represented in LEGO. However, what’s perhaps even more surprising is that if you head over to LEGOLAND Billund in Denmark you’ll also see a tremendous amount of Americana!

If you visited Atlanta over the last couple of decades that trip may have included a stop at the former CNN Center integrated into the Omni Hotel. This is especially true if you were visiting the neighboring Georgia World Congress Center, the Georgia Dome, Mercedes Benz Stadium Philips Arena (now State Farm) or Centennial Olympic Park. The food court at the base of the atrium was massive with tons of choices for those looking for a quick meal, but there was also a CNN Tour. However, this space 50 years ago in 1976 housed an indoor amusement park called The World of Sid and Marty Krofft.

Beast Land Theme Park in Riyadh is Open Now Until December 27th with 3 Traveling Roller Coasters

MrBeast now has his own theme park, or more of a high quality traveling carnival, called Beast Land in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I’ll call this a theme park as it is themed to him! Beast Land really has two elements, the Beast Land amusement/theme park and Beast Arena where you can compete in games and events to win money. The park launch video is below and is highly focused on the game aspect of the park and less on the rides. There are also complex issues related to Saudi Arabian investment which enables this much of this wild stuff. However, we cover theme parks here, so we’ll focus on the rides including a massive inverted coaster you can see in the video.

Is the Closing of Six Flags America a Sign of Things to Come for the Theme Park Industry?

Six Flags America is closed, likely forever, unless the land is bought by a group who intends to reopen it, which seems unlikely. There have already been reports of trains from Professor Screamore’s SkyWinder being moved to Canada’s Wonderland for their Vekoma SLC Flight Deck, so it appears the dismantling is underway. Six Flags also announced on an earnings call its intention to divest other “non-core” parks, but it is yet to be seen if these sales will be to another operator or result in closure with the land seeing other uses. A closure is often in the best interest of a seller in order to drive business to their other parks nearby. National news gave lots of coverage to the Six Flags America closure, laying part of the blame on a “sluggish economy that’s hit Six Flags’ core middle-class customers particularly hard”. So what does this mean for the industry going forward?

The TEA Rankings are Out of for the Top 25 Theme Parks Worldwide and Almost Half are in Asia

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) is a international non-profitwho releases a free annual report about the leisure and travel sectors including the theme park industry. The 2024 TEA Global Experience Index™ is out and the results show that Asia is a growing theme park powerhouse with 12 of the top 25 theme parks by attendance. It’s not uncommon for enthusiasts to travel internationally these days, but most seem to travel to Europe, not Asia. Most of the Asian parks in the top 10 are in Japan including #3 Universal Studios Japan, #4 Tokyo Disneyland and #7 Tokyo DisneySea, but you’ll also find several parks in China and two in South Korea. However, this report shows that if you’ve never visited a park in Asia you’re missing almost half of the top 25 parks in the world.

It’s super easy to use and comes in both a free version as well as a “pro” version for $0.99/month which gives you enhanced statistics. The app is easy to use while at the park and even has an Apple Watch version. The amount of data here is intense including trip reports, miles traveled on coaster track, total inversions and even steps walked inside of parks. You’ll also find ride information pictures and reviews from other users along with current wait times and show times for many parks. LogRide will quickly become your go-to app inside parks, sometimes more than the theme park’s own app!

An American Family’s Review of LEGOLAND Billund

As part of a larger European trip we spent 2 park days at LEGOLAND Billund and 2 nights at a LEGOLAND resort property. Billund, Denmark is where LEGO was invented and headquartered, so this is the “home” of LEGO. It was a great trip at what we felt was an extremely reasonable price. Even though we don’t speak a word of Danish we had zero issues communicating and fully experiencing the park. The park is adjacent to the airport, so transportation is very easy. The accommodations were also well themed, convenient and available at many price points to fit any budget. LEGOLAND Billund is a great theme park in general and simply amazing if you are at all a fan of LEGO.

Anything for a Credit? Adult Review of Going to Peppa Pig Theme Park to Ride Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster.

I was in central Florida for business and happened to be working and staying about 5 miles away from LEGOLAND Florida and the new Peppa Pig Theme Park. I mentioned to my guests about my roller coaster habit and adults visiting Peppa Pig just to get the “credit” (number of unique coasters ridden). They asked if I had done that yet, which I hadn’t, and they kindly arranged for me to visit and ride the surprisingly great Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster by Zamperla.

Massive DC Universe Land Opens at Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Six Flags Fiesta Texas has opened a new DC Universe themed land, the largest of any in the United States. The new DC Universe themed area on March 1, 2025 and features three all-new rides: CYBORG™ Cyber Revolution, SHAZAM!™ Tower of Eternity, and METROPOLIS™ Transit Authority. Also included in DC Universe will be exciting updates to several existing rides and a newly remodeled Daily Planet. Fiesta Texas often seems to be on the upper tier of Six Flags parks with theming and attention to detail, like those at the New DC Universe, that aren’t universal across the chain.
