Mythbusters has been off TV for a while, but you can now watch a bunch of their classic episodes for free on YouTube. One of those episodes tested if you could make a giant ball of LEGO that would roll down a hill and over a car! Obviously, it is possible to make a giant LEGO ball, so the myth centered more on its weight and the number of LEGO bricks it would take. The ball they constructed was amazing, made of solid LEGO bricks where some large builds may be hollow or use DUPLO at their core. The Mythbusters crew even visited their local LEGOLAND California park for some advice and also took in some rides while they were there.

July 4th, 2026 is America’s 250th birthday and it’s been a year long celebration. If you want to get in a patriotic mood, LEGOLAND Florida is a great place to go. You’ll get to see some of the nation’s most iconic structures all created as LEGO brick builds. From the Statue of Liberty to the National Mall to an American Eagle, they’re all represented in LEGO. However, what’s perhaps even more surprising is that if you head over to LEGOLAND Billund in Denmark you’ll also see a tremendous amount of Americana!

If you’re going to spend a day at a theme park, especially one in Central Florida in summer, hydration is going to be very important. Thankfully LEGOLAND Florida has you covered with their souvenir cup refill program. Each cup will cost between $17.99 and $20.29 (depending on the number you purchase) and get you free refills throughout your visit that day. When you come back for another visit you can reactivate the cup for $10.99/day and enjoy another day of free refills. A standard soda at LEGOLAND Florida is just over $5, so it won’t take long to break even on a cup. The park also makes getting those refills super easy and convenient utilizing the Coca-Cola Freestyle system, providing dozens of beverage options.

LEGOLAND Billund Resort is opening a new roller coaster in 2026 (or actually two credits due to the two tracks and dueling nature) called Minifigure Speedway. The attraction is already open at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, where the picture above is from, and features a duelling element with each team having their own minifigure captain. The ride will be located between Knights’ Kingdom and Adventure Land at a height of ~50 feet and is being built on the site of the former Vikings River Splash. This is a “shuttle” style coaster manufactured by Zierer, so the fact it experiences the layout both forwards and backwards makes the most use of the 843 feet of track.

I visited Peppa Pig Theme Park at LegoLand Florida with no kids while visiting Winter Haven on a business trip and had a very enjoyable couple of hours. I mainly went to get the roller coaster credit for Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster, but found myself really enjoying and appreciating the rest of the park as well. The roller coaster is really phenomenal for what it is (a kiddie coaster), but the overall atmosphere is very lighthearted and pleasant. You’ll basically be able to do everything in a couple of hours and if you plan your visit accordingly you can do it at a reasonable price too.

As part of a larger European trip we spent 2 park days at LEGOLAND Billund and 2 nights at a LEGOLAND resort property. Billund, Denmark is where LEGO was invented and headquartered, so this is the “home” of LEGO. It was a great trip at what we felt was an extremely reasonable price. Even though we don’t speak a word of Danish we had zero issues communicating and fully experiencing the park. The park is adjacent to the airport, so transportation is very easy. The accommodations were also well themed, convenient and available at many price points to fit any budget. LEGOLAND Billund is a great theme park in general and simply amazing if you are at all a fan of LEGO.

I was in central Florida for business and happened to be working and staying about 5 miles away from LEGOLAND Florida and the new Peppa Pig Theme Park. I mentioned to my guests about my roller coaster habit and adults visiting Peppa Pig just to get the “credit” (number of unique coasters ridden). They asked if I had done that yet, which I hadn’t, and they kindly arranged for me to visit and ride the surprisingly great Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster by Zamperla.

Update September 2025: It appears according to the LegoLand website that this will be a space themed coaster, the park’s first since 2011. “Get ready to blast off! In early 2026, LEGOLAND® Florida Resort is launching an all-new space-themed experience featuring our most technologically advanced indoor coaster ever — a fully immersive mission from liftoff to landing.” It will feature a themed queue as you launch from Spaceport 885 (named after the original LEGO® Space Scooter set #885)!

Six Flags Over Georgia has electric car charging available in its parking lot and at least last year it was totally free! The chargers are on the edge of the main parking area in near ideal parking spots right next to Batman The Ride. This location has to be the prettiest view I’ve had from a charging station. The chargers have the standard SAE J1772 plug, so if you have a Tesla you may need an adapter. The chargers also have huge beautiful LED screens that double to show advertisements.
