The Paradise River at Splash Island Water Park (part of Wild Adventures Theme Park) has been nominated for “Best Lazy River” in USA Today’s 10BEST. Paradise River is in a beautiful setting with palms trees and foliage all around as you pass under several bridges around the course. There are some fun water features to interact with, but nothing too much that takes the “lazy” out of lazy river. Paradise River has been nominated along with 19 other lazy rivers and includes prestigious company such as Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach along with its sister property, Dollywood Splash Country. South Georgia’s answer to “go with the flow” takes tubers through Valdosta’s family-friendly water park with shallow-entry access, making it great for all ages. The winding route takes you past vibrant landscaping and playful water features that keep things interesting without disrupting your chill. Feel free to hop off your tube and swim in the river if you need an extra cooling soak.

Splash Island is a small, but mighty water park that is part of Wild Adventures Theme Park. The setting is idealistic with beautiful palm trees and landscaping. Although not large in acreage, it really has at least one of everything you need for a high quality water park experience including a wave pool, family tube slides, high speed thrilling flume slides, a great children’s area and of course a lazy river. There’s also great food nearby and it’s included with a Wild Adventures admission where you can also take I a roller coaster, show, concert or animals.

You can vote for Paradise River once per day until polls close on Monday, April 20 at noon ET and he winning lazy rivers will be announced on Wednesday, April 29. Splash Island at Wild Adventures is a great little water park and the fact that it’s included for free with a regular Wild Adventures admission makes it a crazy value. Hopefully being nominated for a USA Today 10BEST gets it some recognition it rightfully deserves. As of March 25, 2025 Paradise River at Splash Island Waterpark is currently ranked #1 of 20 for Best Lazy River and let’s try to keep it there!
