Wild Adventures Upgrading 3 Rides for 2026 Season

In a recent press release it was announced that Wild Adventures in Valdosta, Georgia would be making upgrades to 3 guest favorite attractions. This off-season, the maintenance team at Wild Adventures was hard at work improving the ride experience on Island Falls, the Safari Train, and Boomerang. Island Falls has 2 new boats, delivering shorter wait times and more splash-filled fun. The Safari Train has a second locomotive joining the track, meaning less time spent waiting in line to hop on board. The beloved Boomerang roller coaster features an all-new control system and new magnetic brakes from Vekoma, designed for smooth stops and reduced unexpected closures throughout the season.

These 3 rides are some of the most beloved rides at Wild Adventures. Island Falls provides an exciting way to cool off on a hot Georgia day either a 50-foot drop on one of the boats or just standing on the observation bridge for the giant splash. This “shoot the chute” ride opened in 1999 and was originally known as Blackfoot Falls before receiving its current name in 2020. Each boat carries up to 20 guests and a second boat should essentially double the ride capacity.

The Safari Train allows for some of the best views of many of the park’s animal ambassadors like giraffes, water buffalo, rhinoceros, zebra, ostriches. It is a C.P. Huntington is a Miniature Railway from Chance Rides. It’s actually a pretty lengthy experience taking riders around the park’s largest animal habitat and past the new campground. With the lengthy ride it was not uncommon to see the sign below letting you know when the train would return. Also, on busy days when the train would fill up it could be quite the wait for it to return, so adding a second one should help a great deal.

The Boomerang the park’s most thrilling roller coaster offering 6 total inversions. This ride opened in 1998, but still is silky smooth and looks great with a brand new paint job it received a couple of years ago. There are copies of this ride in many parks, but Wild Adventures has one of the best as you can tell the park is on top of maintenance and have kept it looking great as the dominant thing in the park’s skyline at 116 feet tall. During this ride you’ll pull 5.2 G’s which is one of the highest you can experience at any theme park. The shuttle aspect where you get to experience the whole layout forwards and backwards may be novel to many theme park guests as not many places have a shuttle coaster.

In addition to the ride upgrades, several other areas of the parks are receiving upgrades. The Spider Monkeys now have an all-new habitat, located in Oasis Outpost. A large section of the Alapaha Trail will be reopening for the first time in over a decade, receiving fresh wood for guests to stroll the authentic Georgia swampland. Three new animal encounters will be available to purchase with the Two-Toed Sloths, Giraffes and the Tamanduas.

This year Water’s Edge will be open for its first full season. The newly themed area opened in 2025 and features two new rides, Boat Parade and Wing Swinger and a new home for the park’s beloved Ferris Wheel, the Horizon Wheel. There are also two all-new food locations, Water’s Edge Tacos and Lakeside Refreshments as well as a new first aid location and quiet room. Numerous other food areas in the park are also getting a refresh and redesign for faster and more efficient service.

To celebrate 30 years, Wild Adventures is currently offering Single Day Tickets for just $30 when purchased online now through April 6. Wild Adventures has also installed new selfie spots across the park to help guests digitalize their memories and share across social media. The park will also have a full event schedule with its Easter Eggstravaganza, Wild Adventures LIVE! concert series, Celebrate America around July 4th, the return of the Harlem Globetrotter, Great Pumpkin LumiNights for Halloween and concludes with the Christmas Wild & Bright celebration.

“For three decades, families have trusted Wild Adventures to be the place where their memories are made. Our 30th anniversary isn’t just about looking back; it’s about investing in the future of this park and the guests who make it special. From ride upgrades to new animal experiences and refreshed dining, every addition this season reflects what we’ve heard from our community. No one funs like us, and this year we’re raising the bar once again.”
