Happy New Year! It’s now 2026 and parks in Georgia have begun announcing their opening date for the new year. Most parks (with the exception of Fun Spot Atlanta) close for a few months in the winter before reopening in spring. Here are the announced dates so far:
- Wild Adventures: March 14, 2026
- Six Flags Over Georgia: March 28, 2026
- Six Flags White Water: May 9, 2026
- Lake Winnie: May 1, 2026
- Fun Spot Atlanta: Open year round
It’s the slow season for theme park lovers with just a handful of regional parks in places like California, Texas and California remaining open in January and February. Thankfully in the Southeast spring comes quickly unlike places like the Midwest or East coast where parks may not open until May. A park closing for a couple months can have some upside though as it does allow the park to perform most essential maintenance when the park is closed. Year round parks need to close rides on regular operating days to conduct similar work. It’s also a great time for new attraction construction (although there’s no new major attraction coming to Georgia this year). We’re only 60 days away from Wild Adventures opening day and it will be here before we know it!
