A Bluey Roller Coaster is Coming to Alton Towers

Bluey coaster construction at Alton Towers

A Bluey roller coaster has nearly completed construction at Alton Towers in the United Kingdom for a 2026 opening. The ride is located in the park’s CBeebies Land and signage around the construction leaves no doubt as to what is coming. For Americans who may not know, “CBeebies” is a free British public broadcast children’s television channel owned and operated by the BBC. Alton Towers is leaning into the attraction heavily for its 2026 marketing as you’d expect and no doubt this will be a huge hit with families who love the iconic show.

Bluey has appeared at Alton Towers for meet-and-greets, but this is the world’s first Bluey Ride. It’s interesting that on its website the park refers to this is a “Bluey ride” when it is definitely a roller coaster, but I guess that’s semantics and a roller coaster is a ride. In addition to the coaster there will be meet-and-greets and even a “Bluey sleepover” at the park’s hotel.

Get ready for the launch of the world’s first Bluey ride … hooray! Opening Spring 2026 at Alton Towers Resort in the UK’s only CBeebies Land. As well as a brand-new ride, audiences get to experience all the Bluey fun at Alton Towers Resort, including the popular Heeler family meet-and-greets and live experience within Big Fun Showtime. Plus, fans have the chance to enjoy the ultimate Bluey sleepover at the award-winning CBeebies Land Hotel too!

The roller coaster itself is a family coaster from Zierer called the Force Coaster. The specs on it haven’t been officially announced yet, but it looks highly similar to the new Beach Rescue Racer at SeaWorld San Antonio or the Kōmbo Family Coaster at the Indianapolis Zoo. Zierer’s family coasters typically feature a tire lift hill of about 20 feet and around 1,300 feet of track reaching around 20 mph. These are fun rides that aren’t too intense for kids, but provide just enough thrill for the parents too.

The coaster continues Alton Towers continued investment in the Bluey IP. and it’s relatively surprising to see the first Bluey ride happening at a park not owned by Disney. We’ve spoken before about the complicated world of Bluey theme park rights, but somehow Merlin (owner of Alton Towers) has found a way to make this happen.
