Is the Flash Pass at Six Flags Fiesta Texas Worth it During Holiday in the Park? Maybe…

I visited Six Flags Fiesta Texas on Saturday, November 22, 2025, the start of Holiday in the Park. It was a beautiful fall day and the park looked awesome. I had purchased the Flash Pass for my son and I several days in advance anticipating a busy day due to the great weather forecast and t. The Flash Pass was $39.99/person for the standard version which holds your place in the virtual line, so you can enjoy the park while waiting for your turn to ride. In theory this should approximately double the amount of rides you can get on in a day as you can be two places at once by virtually waiting for one ride while riding another ride, enjoying a show or having a meal. Was this a worthwhile purchase? The answer is a resounding “maybe” as although we saved a relatively minimal amount of time for our $80 investment, we did legitimately enjoy a few more things at a more relaxed pace than we would have without it.

To set the stage, this was our first trip to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and was part of a family trip to San Antonio to visit it, Sea World San Antonio and other local attractions. We had traveled from Georgia and planned one day at the park with the goal of riding all the major attractions and this was the reason we got the Fast Pass. As a side note, we used our new 2026 Six Flags Over Georgia Gold Passes with the All Parks Passport to get in for free which was awesome. The park was scheduled to be open from noon to 9pm, so with nearly 50 attractions and shows to consume we expected time to be tight. However, we were greatly helped out by the fact that the park opened its gates shortly after 11am with several rides running by 11:30am, essentially giving us an extra hour. By around 11:30am we had already experienced Chupacabra, gotten our season cup refills and had our bearings. Also, as you can probably tell from the pictures above, the park looked AWESOME for Christmas and Holiday in the Park.

For the first two hours essentially everything we experienced was a walk-on including new attractions like Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger. We used first Flash Pass on Iron Rattler around 12:pm to save us a 5-10 minute wait as it was only operating on one train at that time, but our next use of Flash Pass wouldn’t come for another couple of hours. We enjoyed several attractions in the new DC Universe area and then got some lunch. While we enjoyed our meal we started a virtual wait on Superman Krypton Coaster which saved us about 10-15 minutes. There was no need to start any other fast passes as nothing else really had a wait. This was essentially the story the whole afternoon until around 4pm. This is no reflection on the Fast Pass software either, it is well designed, intuitive and easy to use with 20 rides included.

Later in the afternoon several attractions did start to show wait times of 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes. Usually the wait time in the Flash Pass app appeared less than the actual line, which was a good thing, with “Ride Now” often shown on rides that did have a little wait. We got a ride on Wonder Woman Golden Lasso and Poltergeist, saving about 15-20 minutes each time. Our final Flash Pass was for a second ride of Iron Rattler at night which showed an hour wait. By the time our wait was up the wait had shrunk to 10-15 minutes, however, it still had value as we were able to have a nice dinner and leisurely work our way back over to Iron Rattler, enjoying several other attractions on the way with zero stress. All together I’d say the Flash Pass saved us around 90 minutes in wait times (+/- 30 minutes) for $40/person. Was this “worth it”? I guess that’s a matter of how much $40 means to you, but for us an extra couple hours of park time was probably more valuable compared to a local guest or season passholder being we live a plane flight away.

The park does have some other Flash Pass options, we did the standard Flash Pass, but there are two significantly more expensive options in addition to “One Shot” single ride passes. Premium will cut your wait in half compared to the posted wait time and ultimate giving you immediate boarding no matter the wait. I can confidently say though that neither of these two options would have gotten us on significantly more unique attractions given there were tons of options with no wait available. The value here really only would have been if you wanted to marathon one of the handful of attractions with a consistent wait for a good portion of the day like Wonder Woman Golden Lasso or Iron Rattler. Also, the “One Shot” would only be worthwhile if there was one long wait time attraction you hoped to experience as most “One Shot” prices were about 50% the cost of a standard Flash Pass.

In many ways I suppose it’s a compliment to Six Flags Fiesta Texas for having so many attractions running during its Christmas event. Many parks will shutter a portion of the attractions, but Six Flags Fiesta Texas had everything going with the exception of a couple flat rides undergoing regular maintenance. They also had several trains running on coasters like Dr, Diabolical’s Cliffhanger, making lines move fast with decently fast operations. The park didn’t feel empty in the least either, so a lot of credit is due to the park for making Flash Pass basically unnecessary. It really is the best of the Six Flags parks in my opinion with superior operations, beauty, theming and food compared to the rest of the chain.

The amount of time Flash Pass saved us on this visit was minimal, but that’s not to say it didn’t add value and joy to our day. We probably got to experience legitimately got to experience 2-3 extra rides while getting multiple rides on Iron Rattler and Dr, Diabolical’s Cliffhanger. We also probably more fully enjoyed things like meals and shows knowing we were virtually waiting elsewhere. My advice would be to perhaps not purchase Flash Pass in advance, but instead start your day and see how things develop before making a purchase if it’s a borderline kind of day. We took this approach at SeaWorld San Antonio the following day as were so happy we hadn’t purchased Quick Queue as a colder dreary day had everything a walk-on for essentially the entirety of the day. Flash Pass is a good product and Six Flags Fiesta Texas is a phenomenal park, so good in fact that Flash Pass may be less worthwhile here than most other Six Flags parks.
