SeaWorld has announced a new indoor ride for the second consecutive year with the suspended dark ride, SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep. This is not a suspended coaster, but a powered suspended dark ride. Based on permits and activity at the park it appears to be headed to a parking lot behind the Ports of Call ballroom near Expedition Odyssey. The ride will be themed to a submarine taking an underwater voyage.

Prepare to dive into an unforgettable journey beneath the waves on the world’s first-of-its-kind suspended dark ride. Opening in 2026, SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep takes families on an awe-inspiring voyage into the ocean’s most extraordinary realms. Step aboard a state-of-the-art submersible and discover dazzling ecosystems, legendary sea life, and breathtaking stories of resilience and wonder.

SeaWorld claims this to be a world’s first of its kind attraction, but that may be more in the details with two other suspended dark rides just in Orlando with Peter Pan’s Flight at Magic Kingdom and E.T. Adventure at Universal Studios. It appears from Vekoma’s website that the vehicle can rotate to potentially control the guest view, so that could be it.

It’s great to SeaWorld Orlando getting another indoor attraction given the hot summers and rain in Orlando. In the span of 2 years the park will go from no indoor rides to two, which is pretty amazing. This ride probably won’t revolutionize the park, even being the first of its kind, but it will add another great family attraction. SeaQuest will also provide a true “dark ride” for the park which will help round out its coaster lineup and cater to fans of the genre. SeaQuest construction should be quite visible given its rumored location, so it will be fun to follow this in the coming months.
