The great Muppet band, Electric Mayhem, will be taking to the stage at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starting in 2026. Disney has released this information along with some concept art of the pre-show area and the building exterior. The pre-show looks amazing with what appears to be Scooter as a director and penguins as audio engineers. The ride descriptions seem quite similar to the current Aerosmith version, but with an exciting Muppet twist to everything.

The original Aerosmith version opened in July of 1999 in what was thought to be around a 25 year contract. With the pending expiration of this contract and Aerosmith’s end of touring, a retheme of this ride seemed inevitable. In fact, the version in Paris was replaced with Avengers Assemble: Flight Force in 2022. Disney announced in late 2024 that the Muppets would be the replacement for the Orlando version, which conveniently helped remove some of the Sting from the controversial closure of MuppetVision 3D in June 2025.

As a fun aside, Xpress: Platform 13, a roller coaster at Walibi Holland, has nearly the same track layout as the “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster” at Hollywood Studios, but it’s 100% outdoors so you can see everything. When it opened in the year 2000 it was actually know as “Superman The Ride” as Walibi Holland was known as Six Flags Holland at the time! Six Flags sold their European parks shortly after, but it’s crazy to think Disney and Six Flags were operating essentially the same coaster.
