Six Flags Entertainment Corporation announced it has extended its licensing agreement with Peanuts Worldwide for another five years. The new agreement extends Six Flags’ position as the exclusive amusement park partner for Peanuts™ in North America meaning guest at Knott’s Berry Farm, Carowinds, Cedar Point, Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Dorney Park, Canada’s Wonderland, California’s Great America, Michigan’s Adventure, Valleyfair, and Worlds of Fun will continue to experience the iconic Peanuts characters until at least the next decade.

The company’s collaboration with Peanuts dates back to the early ‘80s when Knott’s Berry Farm in southern California opened the first Camp Snoopy. Since then, the legacy Cedar Fair parks have made significant investments to introduce Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang to guests of all ages. For 2025 Carowinds unveiled two new family friendly attractions in Camp Snoopy as part of the largest investment in family attractions in the park’s history: a new launch roller coaster and an interactive raft ride. In 2024 Kings Island expanded its award-winning kids’ area with the addition of a new adventure play space, Camp Snoopy, featuring the park’s newest roller coaster, Snoopy’s Soapbox Racers

Based on the press release it appears that the legacy Cedar Fair parks will stick with Peanuts and the legacy Six Flags parks will stick with Looney Tunes for the foreseeable future. This renewal only makes sense with the recent investments at Carowinds and Kings Island, but there were fears that Snoopy was on the way out based on some clearance merchandise at the park. It’s not too difficult to retheme a children’s flat ride or roller coaster, so even though these rides were new, questions remained up until this announcement. Snoopy is an iconic character and it’s great to see he’ll be part of these parks going forward.
