Primo’s is one of three restaurants at Six Flags Over Georgia to see major upgrades this year with the others being DeeJay’s Diner and Firehouse BBQ (formerly Daddy O’s BBQ). In a press release about the Primo’s upgrade, Six Flags Over Georgia mentions, “Primo’s Pizzeria now has a new pizza recipe featuring a thicker crust, along with new menu items inspired by Italian street food.” In addition to a new pizza recipe Primo’s also features new chicken pesto sandwiches on focaccia and sausage piadina flatbreads inspired by Italian street food.

In addition to the main entrées there are also several new dishes such as seasonal vegetables and pasta salad. There are also breadsticks, cheese sticks and Caesar salad available. At Promenade Primo’s Pizzeria the pizza and other dishes are all on the counter right in front of you so that you can see exactly what you’ll be getting. This is similar to the new service style at Firehouse BBQ and adds a nice touch while allowing you to see exactly what you’ll be getting.

So you don’t get confused, there are actually two Primo’s locations at Six Flags Over Georgia, the Promenade Primo’s Pizzeria near the park entrance and Piedmont Primo’s Pizzeria located near Thunder River. The Piedmont location is the newly renovated building while the Piedmont location is a food stand, but it has a nice outdoor seating location to the side with great views of Thunder River. The main pizza appears to be identical at both locations, but the Promenade location in the newly renovated building with indoor ordering, counter service and with a more expanded menu.

On a recent visit we tried the new pepperoni pizza and breadsticks from the Piedmont location (although we stopped into Promenade for some pictures and a drink refill). It was quite good pizza with high quality mozzarella cheese, great sauce and large slices of pepperoni. It was good tasting pizza, what more can you say? The only real downside was the price at over $17 for a slice and two bread sticks (which you can swap for chips). However, I’ve probably been spoiled by too many $2.99 RaceTrac pizza slices that have warped my sense of what things should cost at a tourist attraction. For the price Primo’s does give a large slice of pizza (probably the equivalent of a quarter of a standard pizza) and it does come with breadsticks. The only thing I might change is having another side choice like a small salad, similar to the numerous sides available at Firehouse BBQ (and this may have been an option at the Promenade location, but it was not at Piedmont). However, if this is supposed to feel like Italian street food (a great concept), then maybe a salad isn’t a good fit.

Overall Primo’s was a very good theme park dining experience. The pizza was excellent and the new Promenade location looked great. My only gripe was the price, but it’s 2025 and I was eating at a theme park, so it probably just comes with the territory. Hopefully the menu continues to expand in the coming years, I’d love to see Chef Priscilla’s take on something like a meatball sub! Theme park food expectations have been rising, even in pizza, where Pizza Moon at the new Epic Universe has been getting tons of buzz. The new Promenade Primo’s Pizzeria fits nicely with the spectacular new Firehouse BBQ giving regular park visitors some good quality options. I’m a fan of where Six Flags Over Georgia dining is going and hopefully 2026 brings us even more wonderful choices!
