Six Flags Launches (and Suspends) New “Pass Perks” Program

Update: August 1, 2025 Per the Pass Perks website, “Starting August 1, 2025, Pass Perks Monthly Rewards will be placed on an extended hold as we make exciting enhancements to the program.” They also state that, “While we’re making improvements, we’ll be delivering complimentary Pass Perks to our Passholders and Members as a token of our appreciation for your continued loyalty.” The rewards earned for July 2025 did drop into my app, so that was good to see. Six Flags does promise, “BIG updates are coming later this year!”, but it appears the reason Pass Perks is being suspended is due to “technological upgrades” with the actual implementation of the new program coming in 2026. In a recent earnings call the company did mention the desire to have existing passholders visit more frequently, so there is a desire to encourage loyalty. If they go the way of the airlines it might be points based on spending in the parks rather than visits, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Six Flags has announced a new “Pass Perks” loyalty program exclusively for Season Passholders and Members, where you can earn rewards for visiting the parks. The program began on May 1, 2025 and is for select parks which appears to be the nearly all the legacy Six Flags parks (with Six Flags America, La Ronde and Wild Safari also excluded) and none of the legacy Cedar Fair parks . With each visit, you’ll automatically progress towards earning Pass Perks that can be redeemed the following month. On the first day of each month, the Pass Perks you’ve accumulated will be added to your Season Pass or Membership. These perks include things like enhanced discounts on food and merchandise or extra free and discounted tickets for friends.

The perks for the month of July 2025 are pretty sweet in that they include extra discounted and free bring-a-friend tickets or increased food and merchandise discounts. This month two visits will net you a $15 “bring-a-friend” ticket and 3 visits will earn a free ticket. A 3rd and 4th visit will also earn you a 15% and 20% discount respectively towards merchandise, food & beverage. The current perks are identical for every park in the program, but I imagine there may be some variation going forward. The website mentions that future Perks could include additional discounts on food, beverages, retail, games, tickets, and more. Perks you earn this month will be available in the app starting on the 1st of the following month and be valid for about 30 days. Be aware that you also cannot “stack” perk discounts with other discounts and there are special rules for earning and redemption for multi-park passholders.

This is a great program is there’s only upside for the guests coming more frequently and not a real downside as you don’t even need to activate it, it’s automatically included. There are only two areas for improvement I’d suggest for the program both related to the app. The first is that currently the only way you can see a month’s Pass Perks and the number of visits you need to earn it is on the Pass Perks homepage. The second is similar in that according to the website the only way to check your visit count is to reach out to the Six Flags Support Team. Hopefully both of these are just temporary so that guests can soon see and track perks on the app as the app is so central to redeeming the perks and the park experience in general for a season passholder.

Overall this is an excellent addition to the season pass program. Sometimes with things like subscriptions or annual passes it seems like companies don’t mind if you essentially forget and don’t use a service. However, in this case Six Flags is encouraging pass members to visit the park more. If the average guest is like us, they probably spend money on each visit as we did this week visiting our home park of Six Flags Over Georgia on the 4th of July. Lunch, drinks and an ICEE cost us around $50 total that day, but in the past we’ve also purchased the occasional souvenir and brought paying guests to the park (usually using a discount). A perks program probably also builds loyalty and a higher likelihood of renewal the following year as it seems like every restaurant, hotel, airline, gas station, etc. has them now. It’ll be great to see what perks they offer as the year goes on, but so far the July perks certainly are a great start.
