Breakout Games Atlanta Escape Room Review. A Great Themed and Immersive Experience!

Breakout Games Atlanta logo

Breakout Games Atlanta was our first escape room experience and we were blown away. We mostly cover theme parks here, but lines blur sometimes between theme park, amusement park, family entertainment center, etc. I wanted to review our experience here because a theme park is all about immersion and story and our experience at Breakout Games had both of these at a level rivaling the best of theme parks. Our multi-room interactive experience had effects and production value far beyond what I expected from a nondescript office building exterior, providing an hour of amazing entertainment.

We played “Clue” which is an IP that Breakout Games has licensed from Hasbro (another theme park parallel here). I won’t give any details about the actual “Clue” game itself that you won’t get from the website itself or from the game masters in helping you select a game. The “Clue” game was recommended for first timers as it was multi-room and had a good mixture of typical escape rooms challenges such as logic puzzles, physical puzzles, locks, hidden items, etc. and was a good fit for our group of 3 adults and 2 third graders. Here’s the description from the website:

“Someone is plotting a murder. You have 60 minutes to stop them. Hasbro and Breakout Games have teamed up to bring you the first official “Clue: The Escape Room.”  The mystery game millions have loved is reimagined for you and your friends to experience and solve in person.  Save the day by uncovering who is plotting the murder, with what weapon, and in what room all in less than 1 hour.”

Our game master Sam was amazing and h`e was great at getting us started and offering us an occasional nudge in the right direction when we asked for it and did it with wit and humor that fit the room. We completed our room in 52 minutes and we really felt like we had accomplished something at the end! The near hour passed so quickly and we had the best time during our experience, smiling and giddy wondering what amazing twist could happen next. We visited Breakout Games while on our son’s winter break from school and this was easily the highlight of the week.

Doing an escape room isn’t the cheapest form of entertainment at around $30/person, but we were able to use our GetOutPass (a local attractions pass which we love) to cover 3 of the 5 admissions. We’ve wanted to try an escape room for some time this was the primary reason why we chose to try Breakout Games first. The cost of a GetOutPass is almost the same price as a single visit to Breakout Games, so it’s really the way to go with all the other free experiences you’ll get with the card. If you use my code promo code “MANCOSKY1” at checkout (or replaced the one already there if they’re running a sale) and it should give you an additional $5 off while also giving me $5 off my family’s renewals. If you’re reading this significantly after the publication date, just be sure Breakout Games is still participating.

Breakout Games Atlanta is part of the larger Breakout Games chain who has 44 locations in 28 states, so there’s a good chance you can play “Clue” near you even if you’re not from Georgia. Breakout Games offers tons of additional games choices other than “Clue” as well including an art heist, a kidnapping, a runaway train, an exploding volcano on an island, a sunken submarine and many more. We’re so glad we tried Breakout Games Atlanta and even ended up walking out having bought a discounted gift card for next time. Over lunch and the drive home we were already trying to decide what room to do next!
