Visit Busch Gardens in Minecraft with MCParks!

Are you a fan of Busch Gardens? Are you a fan of Minecraft? Then you totally need to check out MCParks Busch Gardens Tampa for Minecraft! MCParks uses teams of Imagineers, Technicians and Guest Relations to faithfully recreate the park experience. The park uses a variety of resources to to create a one block to one meter virtual recreation of the park. You can see this demonstrated in the picture above with the faithful recreation of Falcon’s Fury!

Imagineers work to construct the parks and resorts of the server. They leverage satellite imagery on Google Earth, blueprints, photos, videos, and more combined with precise measuring and trigonometry to ensure that our parks are properly built to a 1:1 scale (every block in Minecraft corresponds to one cubic meter in real life). Everything from the rides, paths, restaurants, shops, and even bathrooms are painstakingly layed out for accuracy’s sake, and we’re always updating our parks in an effort to stay up-to-date and to-scale.”

In addition to the Imagineers, MCParks also has “technicians” who make sure things like rides, animatronics and even fireworks function properly as well as “guest relations” who facilitate the day to day guest experience. Busch Gardens by MCParks really does capture the look and feel of the park, especially the coasters. Note that MCParks is available on the Java Edition of Minecraft, so make sure you’re playing the right version to find it.

MCParks also has a video trailer for the park on YouTube. The video really shows off the kinetic operation of the park with rides like Tigris and SheiKra. It’s Minecraft, so it has that low resolution feel, but you can certainly tell immediately that it’s Busch Gardens Tampa. I especially like watching Tigris go through the heartline roll at the top of the course.

I especially like browsing the MCParks website where you can find images of defunct rides. You can find things like a very impressive version of the original wooden Gwazi roller coaster and Sand Serpent. MCParks strives to keep the parks updated, so unfortunately Scorpion will soon be added to this list. I connected with MCParks and asked if they had any plans for doing more defunct attractions and they responded that, “We’ve discussed the idea of doing defunct attractions in the past in a separate area but really don’t have the team bandwidth to move forward on that.” Their desire to focus is completely understandable as if you’ve ever spent much time on Minecraft you’ll be able to imagine how time consuming it would be to recreate one theme park, much less several.

In addition to Busch Gardens Tampa MCParks also offers recreations of Universal Orlando Resorts, Disneyland Resorts and Walt Disney World. In the case of Universal and Disney you have multiple parks at each, just like real life. In fact at Universal Orlando Resort they even recreated the Volcano Bay water park. The care taken in creating some of these attractions is jaw dropping as evidenced by rides such as Slinky Dog Dash or Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventures below.

If you’re a Minecraft player be sure to check out MCParks and their recreation of Busch Gardens Tampa. With MCParks you can visit Busch Gardens from anywhere at anytime. If you’re a first time visitor you can familiarize yourself with the park prior to your visit too. This really is part game and part work of art and I can’t wait to spend some time exploring a virtual Busch Gardens!
