March 19, 2025 Update: The park has opened for the season and the ride is still standing, but not operating (SBNO). This is the same for Fiesta Texas. Although we haven’t yet seen a definitive public statement from the park, comments from employees, emails to guests and responses influencers all point to the imminent removal of these rides. It was surprising to still see it on the in park maps last week (which you could tell were updated as they included Georgia Gold Rusher). Ironically, also got an email from Skyline today still advertising the P’Sghetti Bowl coaster model for sale and listing SFOG as an install on its website along with a new similar looking, but potentially larger “TrailRunner” design.
March 5, 2025 Update: It appears the closure may now be permanent as the park has removed mention of the coasters from its website although it is still on the online park map. The park opens next week (March 15, 2005) for the season, so I guess we’ll know for sure if it’s SBNO (Standing But Not Operating) or just gone. The ride has also been removed online from Six Flags Fiesta Texas and I plan to look for reports of the ride’s status there since the park is open. The new Six Flags management (formerly Cedar Fair management) appears to not have much patience for unreliable or expensive to maintain rides as demonstrated with Kingda Ka and other rides going away this past year.
At Six Flags Over Georgia it was announced that the new for 2023 Kid Flash Cosmic Coaster was closed indefinitely. The ride certainly has been closed quite a bit in 2024 and its twin at Six Flags Fiesta Texas is also having issues. I went to Kid Flash Opening Day in November of last year which was a great experience and thought it was a fun little ride. It’s really cool that it’s actually a pair of racing coasters and 2 credits too!

The ride has been closed my last 2 visits to the park with the cars removed from the tracks and partially disassembled on one visit. Admittedly on opening day I did have some concerns in the back of my head about the reliability and potential longevity of the ride as It did have a bit of the “carnival ride” feel with regard to the installation and operation. However, I was thrilled to see Skyline being given a chance and also realized the ride was essentially a prototype, so I’m willing to give a ton of grace for the sake of getting new ride concepts and newer manufacturers.

There have been rumors about the future of the ride for a while and Skyline recently clarified what was happening with a post to their social channels. It refers to the rides generically by the model name “P’Sghetti Bowl” and reads as follows:
“We understand that our fans are curious about the extended downtime of our award-winning P’Sghetti Bowl roller coasters. We are actively working with TUV SUD America, a globally recognized testing and certification organization, to implement adjustments that will significantly enhance the reliability of these rides and ensure their safe return to service as soon as possible.
There has been tremendous interest in the P’Sghetti Bowl coasters, and we are excited to see families enjoy these rides together again.
Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to welcoming you back to a P’Sghetti Bowl ride in the near future.”

It’s great seeing Skyline bringing in a 3rd party to fix the issues with these rides. It’s an admirable step and really is putting the customer first. Hopefully they get them up and going for the start of the 2025 season as “right” is probably more important than “fast” at this point. This ride is a great introductory coaster for kids with cars that are quite comfortable for adults too. Family rides are huge in the industry and a park can’t have too many.

On opening day I got some fudge themed to Kid Flash. For whatever reason I never ate it and ran across it the other day. My sincere hope is that the opening day fudge doesn’t outlast the ride itself. Here’s hoping that Six Flags and Skyline can be patient and work together to get Kid Flash operating regularly again.
