The Flash Pass One Shot at Six Flags Over Georgia is a Great Value

On my last visit to Six Flags Over Georgia I noticed for the first time several of these green signs offering the Flash Pass One Shot. When you follow the QR code you’re taken to the Flash Pass website where you can buy a flash pass for the day, the season and now a Flash Pass for a single ride. This “One Shot” is reminiscent of the Lightning Lane Single Pass at Disney parks where you can buy “skip the line” access to certain attractions. The cost seems to vary by ride and day (similar to the Disney system) and I’ve seen prices range on a Friday between $6 and $14 each. However, a Flash Pass on that same Friday went for $60 for the Standard (virtual line holder) Flash Pass all they way up to $145 for the Ultimate (no wait) Flash Pass. So if you’re a regular and only going for a few hours, Single Shots seem to be the way to go.

This system is really easy to use. You simply click any attraction and you can purchase a Single Shot. You’ll then be presented with times and finally a checkout screen with the cost. For pricing I’ve seen prices of $6 for Blue Hawk and Pandemonium, $8 for Batman and $14 for Superman and Goliath. One pass will be required per person in your party and you will have to register for Fast Pass if you haven’t already. Rides that says “Get on now!” give you the option of riding immediately too in addition to a time in the future. You’re also able to purchase and hold multiple Single Shots at one time.

A “skip the line” program can really make your day more enjoyable. It’s an additional cost on your day, but you’ll probably find you can experience as much in the park in one day as it would take you two days without it. You can also enjoy things like a show, adult beverage or sit down lunch rather than waiting in a line. All programs are not created equal though, so it’s important to be sure the value you’re getting matches the price. For example the Ultimate Flash Pass at $145 would probably not be a good value for someone local who could just visit the park multiple times as it exceeds the cost of a Diamond Season pass. However, if you flew across the country or from overseas and only had one day at the park to try to experience everything it probably would be worth it.

There are other cases where a Single Shot may not be the best value such as if you’re visiting with kids. At $25 the Junior Flash Pass is a steal in that it includes Catwoman’s Whip, Dahlonega Mine Train, DC Super Villans Swing, Justice League Battle for Metropolis, Monster Mansion, Poison Ivy Toxic Spin, The Joker Funhouse Coaster, Thunder River, Sky Screamer and The Riddler Mindbender. This is 3 coasters, a water ride, 2 dark rides and some great flat rides all in one $25 package!

Thank you to Six Flags Over Georgia for offering such a diverse set of options. There really is a choice and a price point for everyone. The system also doesn’t seem overused, so even if you don’t get a Flash Pass the regular standby lines move quite quickly too. Also, early mornings, late nights and week days are a great time to visit where a Flash Pass probably wouldn’t add much value, but for the busy days or when visiting a park with limited time, it’s great to know that options are there.
