ACE’s “World’s Largest Ride” at Wild Adventures on Boomerang

On June 16th at 2pm participating parks simultaneously dispatch coasters as part of “The World’s Largest Ride” to celebrate the anniversary of LaMarcus Thompson’s Switchback Railway, the first modern roller coaster. The event is organized by American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) and this year is the 3rd annual celebration of the event. About 20 parks participated this year including Wild Adventures of Valdosta, GA where I participated.

The ride was tons of fun and being part of a larger event made for a great experience. Wild Adventures began loading participants about 10 minutes before 2pm and then came a countdown to dispatch the train exactly at 2pm. The park’s social media coordinator was there taking tons of fun pictures and videos on what was a hot, but beautifully sunny day in Georgia. Wild Adventures have some great crews on this ride too that make for a lively and entertaining experience. The ride on Boomerang itself was fun as always. It still rides great and it looks awesome with its new for 2024 paint job and color scheme. Thanks so much to ACE and Wild Adventures for putting on a fabulous event!
