Busch Gardens Tampa is somewhat unique in that rather than being off of an interstate in an industrial or isolated area it’s basically in a neighborhood. There are hotels and businesses nearby, but you don’t have to go but a block from the park and there are whole neighborhoods and some houses are adjacent to the back of the tram parking lot. These houses are relatively affordable too (in today’s market) and a scan of Zillow near the park will show you a number of houses and commercial lots for sale nearby.

One of the most interesting is 1004 N 29th St., Tampa, FL 33612. This 3 bedroom and 2 bath is essentially across the street from the park on its northwest side. Now to get to the entrance would be a bit of a hike to the southwest corner entrance, but a quick walk through your neighborhood would provide some great views of Kumba, Falcon’s Fury and more per the Google Street Views below.

I’m not sure what it would be like to have a theme park as a neighbor. In the summer you get nightly fireworks, but I imagine you get a lot of noises of roller coaster screams or the regular sound of Falcon’s Fury’s drop too (I understand there were complaints about that during construction). As a kid I lived about 3 blocks from railroad tracks, but never remember hearing trains. Now when I go back to visit it’s all I hear the first night, so I suppose the noise is something you get used to. In college I lived about 5 minutes from Six Flags Over Georgia for a year and admittedly it was pretty cool to be that close for frequent easy visits, but not too close to be on top of it. Well, if you ever wanted a theme park as your neighbor, here’s your chance!
